Description

Our one-piece floor packing frame is the first component you should install when starting your campervan conversion; it gives you a solid foundation to build upon and means you don't have to perforate your van floor with screws, keeping your van intact and safe from the elements of poor weather.

  • For VW Transporters T5, T5.1, T6 and T6.1 from 2004 to 2024
  • Designed to fit perfectly, saving time and money during installation.
  • Bonded directly to the van's metal floor, no screws to cause issues down the line.
  • No need to cut multiple pieces to pack the floor.
  • Finishes level with your floor ribs.

Fitting Instructions

  1. A little tip which you won't appreciate until you get to the end of this list, but line up your packing frame on top of your new ply floor, make sure to get the orientation right, quickly draw around it so you know where the frame is under your ply floor when you're ready to screw it down!
  2. Give your floor a good clean, remove any screws or old sealant, prep any rust or damage, remove your lashing rings, and fill any holes with Masterseal Speedbond. If you're cracking straight on, put some duct tape over the sealant before you tread in it.
  3. Work out the frame orientation and get it outside the van, ready to apply your adhesive. You need to move fast and carefully here to ensure your adhesive doesn't cure before you're in place and you don't cover everything in your path with sealant.
  4. Apply a thin bead, roughly 6mm-8mm, all over the frame, keeping it away from the edges so it doesn't squish out and make a mess. We recommend Masterseal Speedbond, a hybrid MS adhesive. 80% stronger than PU and user-friendly, with no nasties in the tube. It's perfect for the job and works in a standard 310-400ml mastic/sealant cartridge gun; two tubes should be plenty!
  5. Add some weight to keep it level; you don't want it lifting. We recommend leaving it for 24 hours to cure fully.
  6. You should now be ready to lift in and screw down your new ply floor, make sure you choose the right size screws so you don't go too far and pierce your vans floor.

These are available for delivery or collection, but please note, if we're posting it, it'll be supplied in two pieces.

This packing frame works with or without a bulkhead in single- or twin-sliding-door models, with either barn doors or tailgates.
